Water Leak Detector Placement Checklist

Kitchen

• Under the kitchen sinkBehind the supply lines, at the lowest point of the cabinet floor — not on a shelf above it.
• Under the refrigeratorIf it has an ice maker or water dispenser line, this is a common slow-leak spot.
• Under the dishwasherNear the water supply connection, close to the front where a leak would first pool.

Laundry room

Bathrooms

• Under each bathroom sinkSame corrosion risk as the kitchen — supply lines and shutoff valves degrade over time.

• Near the shower or tub drainOptional, but worth it if you've had drain or seal issues before.

Basement
